OUR STORY
Emma was a loveable and energetic Rottweiler puppy, less than one year old, the only surviving puppy in a large litter, brought back to health by two dog lovers. She was part of a family. She was loved and she loved back unconditionally like many dogs do. She trusted, she was loyal, she was playful. On a brief toilet break Emma was innocently sniffing around the front of her house. Within hours she was incapacitated and suffering, having been poisoned just metres from her home, like so many dogs in Egypt, she passed away less than 24 hours later.
This pushed us to set up Baladi Watch, dedicated to keeping an eye on the local dog population in the immediate area where we live, looking for ways to prevent this cruel and inhumane way of dealing with the ‘problem’ of dogs, so that no animal has to suffer like Emma did.

We started with our local area back in 2019 and in September 2024 decided to team up with Fourgive, a Swiss registered foundation which is opening the first permanent veterinary clinic in Marsa Alam. We give our time and experience voluntarily, under the coordination of Fourgive, to try to help bring the overpopulation of street animals in Marsa Alam under control in a humane way.

All we can do is our best.
