ACTIVITIES
Bringing Change
The main goal of Baladi Watch is to bring balance between animals and humans within the community. We aim to do this by providing alternative solutions to the 'problem' of overpopulation of wild animals. We believe it is important that residents feel safe and confident and we hope to provide information and education about the animals in order to achieve this.
Working alongside Fourgive and with the help of the SUST Orphan Animal Clinic in Hurghada, we aim to castrate our local dogs in order to control the population in a humane way.
Without this, the population of stray dogs becomes out of control and local people and businesses resort to other ways of reducing it, such as by using poison or by simply moving the dogs on to other areas.
Baladi dogs are sweet-natured, strong, loving and loyal. They make wonderful pets and sometimes need a domestic home when they would not be able survive in the wild or on the street.
If you are interested in adopting a Baladi dog and would like some more information, please contact us and we will work with our network to find the perfect companion for you.
We aim to spread the word among the local community about how to live alongside stray animals in a peaceful way, and raise awareness of the problem with our network abroad in order to gain support for the project through various means.

It is easy to be critical of people for the methods they use to get rid of the 'problem' of stray dogs and cats. For many people they simply have a problem to solve. Through education we can offer alternative solutions and involve the community in finding a sustainable solution for the long term.
